Il y a deux semaines, alors que j'étais en train de m'en servir depuis une vingtaine de minutes, mon appareil photo s'est mis à me faire un message d'erreur bizarre à chaque fois que j'appuyais sur le déclencheur. Après une rapide recherche sur Internet, il s'est avéré que pour ce modèle (qui a 9 ans), c'est pratiquement le chant du cygne. Sa dernière chance réside dans un outil auquel j'aurais accès fin octobre. Le macbook n'a qu'un an de moins et ça me glace le sang !

Two weeks ago as I had been using it for about 20 minutes, my camera started to give me a weird error message each time I was pressing the trigger. After a quick internet search, turns out that in the case of my camera model (9 years already), it's as good as the end. My only chance now is with a tool I'll get access to at the end of october. Worse still, my macbook is only one year younger and I regularly freak out about that.

Donc, pas de gros plans comme d'habitude, mais il me reste les photos prises avec mon téléphone lorsque le travail était en cours. Encore une fois je m'affranchis du cadre habituel de ma série d'herbiers avec celui-ci qui ne devait pas en être un. En effet, début 2015, c'était une pauv' pomme de pin au milieu d'une feuille (dans le but de faire ça). En 2016 je l'ai redécouverte, lui ai trouvé du potentiel et commencé à rajouter des éléments. Bon, la roue des priorités ayant encore tourné, j'ai dû remiser cette illus dans les cartons jusqu'à cet été.

So, no close up pics as I usually do, but still there are the work in progress ones. Once more I step outside the boundaries of my regular herbarium serie with this piece that wasn't even supposed to be an herbarium in the first place. As it is, at the beginning of 2015 it was but a mere pine cone at the center of a piece of paper (part of this project). In 2016, I rediscovered it, realized it had some potential and started adding elements. It wasn't long before I had to take another job, so I only finished it this summer.

J'ai essayé de rassembler tout ce qui pouvait m'évoquer les balades, sans lier l'illus à une région spécifique. On voit vite fait une montagne (improvisée) sur le petit carnet, mais j'ai déjà fait un herbier alpin donc je ne m'y attarde pas. La plume rappelle davantage mes randos forestières en région parisienne, le petit chèvre a un petit côté méridional et l'englishness du tweed et de la robe en laine (autrichienne, d'ailleurs !) reste raisonnable pour ne pas empiéter sur le futur herbier (lolita) que je destine au mois de septembre (vous vous souvenez que mes herbiers fonctionnent comme un calendrier ?). Enfin, certains reconnaîtront la brosse à chiottes de la Trinité. Bref, c'est un peu partout à la fois. Une longue errance.

I gathered everything which reminded me of my own walks in nature, without being too precise regarding the whereabouts of such wanderings. For instance you can see a mountain on the tiny sketchbook, but no more of it as I already did an alpine herbarium once. The feather owes more to what I pick up in the Île de France area, the goat cheese is definitely southern and the englishness of the tweed and the wool dress was contained so as not to outright step on the future september herbarium (lolita) (remember my herbaria follow the months of the year?). So you see, there's a bit of everywhere in this piece. A long errand.

Contrairement à ma série d'herbiers lolita qui est encore en cours et que donc je ne mets pas à la vente (hormis sous forme de tirage pour les herbiers Provencal et Féérique), ce genre d'herbier solitaire est immédiatement disponible comme la plupart de mes illustrations ordinaires, sans parler du fait que vous pouvez m'en commander un sur le thème de votre choix à tout moment.

Pffiou, il n'y paraît pas, mais j'ai eu le temps de finir deux jeux vidéo le temps d'écrire ce billet, ouais deux, Sybéria et Sybéria 2…! Ca faisait des années que je voulais faire ces point and click et comme j'ai un peu renoué avec ce genre de jeu avec les merveilles de chez Amanita Design l'année dernière, j'ai profité d'une promo Steam je ne sais plus quand cette année. Et puis c'est dans le thème du prochain herbier, enfin si je trouve du temps à lui consacrer d'ici la saison froide ! Ainsi se conclut un WE ordi-lit-pyjama et je ne regrette rien (pas comme le WE où j'ai essayé de démonter le Nikon).

Doesn't look like it but I had the time to finish not one but two games over the course or the writing of this post, namely Syberia and Syberia 2…! I had wanted to play these point and clicks for years and since I reconnected with this sort of game last year or so following my discovery of Amanita Design, I splurged without second thought when I had a notification from Steam that these two were on sale. Very fitting with the theme of the next (regular) herbarium, that is, if I can find some time to paint it before the cold season! All in all, a well-overdue computer-bed-pajama WE and I regret nothing (unlike the WE when I tried to fix the Nikon).
