The Handmade's Tale
Où « handmade », fait-main, est ma religion, ma croix, ma malédiction. Je suis l'une de ces personnes obstinées qui aimeraient tout faire elles-même, constamment emmêlée dans une chaine de productions interdépendantes, bien que la plupart des gens ne voient que le maillon final. Lorsque j'ai commencé à partager mes travaux, la coutume voulait que cela se fasse au travers d'une page perso, la plupart du temps faite maison ou d'après des templates créées et généreusement partagées par des particuliers. On pouvait aussi fréquenter les forums, mais cela demandait une certaine confiance dans son coup de crayon, et pour moi c'était bien trop tôt[1]. Maintenant qu'il y a une tripotée d'outils disponibles à tout un chacun pour présenter son travail sans se faire suer, seuls les abrutis affublés de la tare sus-mentionnée persistent et ce malgré la complexification croissante de ce hobby empoisonné. Voilà pourquoi, même si cela vous semble absurde, je n'ai pas eu envie de partager mes dernières productions avant de faire quelques aménagements sur l'espace central de ma vie sur le net, soit mon site perso. Mes travaux sont mieux là-bas, au sein de cet écrin si minutieusement tissé (des lignes et des lignes, à l'infini)[2]. Mais le blog est parfait pour dévoiler un peu les coulisses alors allons-y !
In which handmade is my religion, my cross, my curse. I'm one of these obstinate persons that want to do everything by myself, tangled in the chains of works that are relative to each other, usually invisible to others persons. When I first started sharing my work, custom would have it that one did so through a personal page, mostly handmade or based on templates some folks were making and generously distributing. Posting on forums was also an option, although not really one for me, not fully, as it required a great deal of confidence and I think it was too early[1]. Of course, now there are countless more options for sharing without breaking a sweat, only fools persevere in the wicked way of yore, in denial of the increasing difficulty of this ex-hobby turned full-time job. Being one of these cretins, I couldn't share anything I did recently if my web anchorage needed some repairs ; it was achieved a couple days ago. Such dedication to the jewelcase tends to give one an inclination not to separate it from the jewels, so you'll need to visit to see the new work[2]. However, this blog is the perfect place to write about my behind-the-scene journey, so here we go!
