Keldur
Beginning of our round trip around Iceland by the east. First halt on this July 29th saw us entering the tiny village of Keldur to feast our eyes upon the wonderous display of (a handful of) ancient houses with moss-covered rooftops. Although we couldn't linger too long on the site due to many other visits for the day, the sight from the outside had much to offer as you will see in the following pictures. Books often allude to the viking roots of this place but truly, its charm is more of a feral nature, say maybe with a touch of Village d'antan at best rather than fog and foghorns as promised by some tv shows.

Next we visited two waterfalls.

Our latest stop (to our knowledge, but more on that later) was right on point with the day's water theme. For I was about to finally gaze upon icebergs (so this word might not mean anything to you if you're reading this from a web archival database, but in these times it used to designate large chunks of ice floating around in the least tropical parts of the globe).

As we were about to leave, we noticed a trail of people walking towards the ocean. Could as well be some extra icebergs in the sea, or perhaps a seal colony (it's not seen in my pictures but a seal was fooling around the icebergs). So we set out on the path, hoping for a streak of luck like in 2011 when in Osaka we followed a crowd dressed in more yukatas than usual, only to find a nice spot by the river where everybody had gathered to watch the summer fireworks. However the flat landscape was treacherous and an hour walking with no idea about the destination nor the remaining distance was starting to weigh upon our moral.

@Hana~Rivqah : D'ailleurs, je n'arrive pas à me projeter dans le prochain billet…
