Je pense que cette illustration cristallise un de nos pires cauchemars en tant que collectionneuses de belles étoffes^[1]. La victime n'est autre que notre Fraise, un personnage tout aussi moucheté que la robe qui se consume sur elle. Je réfléchis souvent aux contreparties de notre projet, c'est pourquoi j'ai peins cette première illustration qui fera un bon exlibris, ainsi qu'un bon original à céder à un contributeur particulièrement généreux. Je l'ai exposée en avant-première à la Masquerade Party. J'espère d'ici la réalisation du bouquin améliorer ma façon de travailler à ce genre d'échelle !

I think this illustration pretty much sums up our worst nightmares as clothes curators^[1]. The infortunate is none other than our poor Fraise, a character who sports such freckles as it becomes impossible for them not to brim over on her very own clothes. I often think about the contributions for our project, that's why I painted this piece. It will be used as a printed exlibris, but the original painting will be for sale as well as part of one of the more generous packs of the crowdfunding. It was displayed at the Masquerade Party, as a premiere. I hope that I improve my technique before I can officialy work on this book, since it's such a change from my ordinary scale!

Ça aurait été tellement bien d'avoir déjà lancé le financement… Faute d'être prêts à temps, François et Nella ont du se remettre à plancher sur leurs propres projets aussi en financement participatif. Financement participatif, financement participatif… J'ai peur que les gens qui nous suivent aient l'impression que nous allons les matraquer avec ça… pourtant, les 3 projets incriminés sont différents et n'auront pas forcément le même public (car malheureusement, les gens mettent moins de passion à collectionner les projets caritatifs artistiques que les pokémon). Toutefois les deux premiers à passer sur le billot sont beaucoup plus délicats je pense que Fraise Macaron et Arsenic, dont nous connaissons déjà le lectorat potentiel. J'espère que ça marchera et que tous les défauts de planning de ces deux projets ne les handicapera pas ! Je n'aime pas l'idée que tout se joue sur un mois, un mois et demi ! C'est peu pour écouler des stocks. En attendant, leur meilleure chance, c'est le partage ! Je reviendrais sur le portfolio de Nella dont je designerais la pochette, et je me vengerais allègrement de l'échec que je rencontre systématiquement avec le blog de François qui refuse d'apparaitre dans ma sidebar en revenant à la charge avec un article sur Les Destructeurs. Attention toutefois : une légende urbaine court que je piétine toutes les créations de François selon un schémarse terriblement vulgaire : Shaunarse, Fraise Macaron et Arse-nic, Four Arsemen… Cette familiarité s'explique sans nul doute par le fait que, comme le dit François lui-même, on se connait depuis qu'il a fait Burlesque Garce.

I so so wish we had lauched the crowdfunding by october, as planned… Because we weren't ready back then, François and Nella had no choice but to revert to their own projects, both in crowdfunding as well. Crowdfunding, crowfunding… I fear that people that follow us might be under the impression that they are being over-sollicited… well, the 3 incriminated projects are supposedly rather different from one to another, so hopefully it won't be the same public otherwise it's hard to pick them all up (people don't envision charities artistic projects as they do pokemon, sadly). What concerns me quite a lot is that the first two projects to launch are more difficult to sell than Fraise Macaron and Arsenic (well I should hope so, it's a lolita book). I really hope it will work and that they won't suffer from the planning defficiencies! I'm not easy with the idea of having to sell all of your stock in only one month, one month 1/2 at best. That's why sharing is good for them, for those who can't do much more! I'll be coming back on Nella's portfolio for I will design the folder, and it would only do justice for not being able to display François's blog in my sidebar (a blog I webmaster myself ><) that I should write something a little more in-depth about Les Destructeurs (also, here's a reminder that this book will be available in british english language). Careful tho: some urban legend is going around that I should be systematically ruining François's work whenever I talk about it, apparently with a rather coarse language: Shaunarse, Fraise Macaron and Arse-nic, Four Arsemen… As the man says himself, such familiarity can only take place as we've been knowing each other for way too long… when he was still working on Burlesque Garce (don't you google-translate that).
