Johnston Lake

On the morning of the 28th of july we went hiking at Mont Sulphur but I don't have any pictures of it since it wasn't a very exciting walk. Basically the road consists of hairpin bends until the top through a forest that doesn't change much as it goes, and as much as I like woods, I'd rather cross alpine meadows or something like that from time to time. Plus, there's a gondola that goes to the top that's free until 11:00 am so if any of you readers are planning to visit I suggest saving your legs for more worthy hikes. At the top the road changes to boardwalks, this time crowded with visitors, to climb the actual Mount Sulphur and you can even go see a former meteorological observatory still furnished as in the old times. But I confess my siblings and I skipped that part to ensure our free trip in the gondola when it was still possible, and why not try the hot springs at the foot of the mountain. However these weren't particularly spectacular due to being arranged like a common swimming pool, so we were better off at a cafe with hot chocolate and matcha pockys waiting for my dad and uncle's return.
Then in the afternoon there was still time for another hike, a really easy one due to my feet condition. We went for Lake Johnston where my uncle even did a bit of swimming!

29 juillet.

29 July. We go through a door in a chain-link fence and start our hike in the raptor paddock. It's still early so we're in for a lightning feast on the mossy forest grounds. We spend the first half-hour taking a lot of pictures. I had hoped for some meadows before the end of the trail, but no, 100% forest it is.
